“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.” – Carl Sagan.
We booked a night photo tour with Dani from Banff Photo Workshops.
Beautiful photo! Did you find it hard to hike around at night in the winter? I have a fear of slipping on ice and glazed snow.
We didn’t walk around that much when we took pics so it wasn’t too bad. The weather was unusually warm but still very cold after standing for a while. Had to use pit toilet in the shed – so cold! But very glad they had it. The cloudy set of night pics (I’ll post next), this area required more walking down a slope so I stayed by th car. I’m clumsy and didn’t want to chance it in the dark.

Ha, yeah, those pit toilets in snowy climes! In Minnesota, I once had to use one while we were snowshoeing in some state park, and somebody had thoughtfully installed a Styrofoam toilet seat so people wouldn’t get frostbite on the tush! Walking outside on a snowy evening is beautiful, but slipping on a patch of ice in the dark is not. So definitely, I would also stay in the car!
