Lake Minnewanka

Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake that is 3 miles (5 kilometers) from Banff. Summer is the most popular time of year to enjoy this lake. We had the pleasure of visiting during a mild patch of winter and winter can be harsh but she sure is beautiful.

We really lucked out on this trip because our night photography tour could have been so much colder.

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.” – Carl Sagan.

We booked a night photo tour with Dani from Banff Photo Workshops.
