Dr. Chewie’s Dental Routine

Katzenworld

My humans are obsessed about my teeth. They go on and on about how their two ginger cats, Whiskie and Troy, had the worst teeth and went for routine dental work at the vet. It sounds like they are frightened my teeth will rot and fall out so they kind of make me miserable. It doesn’t help that the vet told girl human during my checkup that I have cracked teeth, my gums were a little red and that I will need a dental in the future.

This is my routine most days:

In the morning and at night I’m given Virbac dental chews for cats. This is the routine I like, the chews are fish and chicken flavored. There’s a coating on the outside that looks like clear paper, its purpose is to clean our teeth as we bite into it. It’s sold at vet’s offices, pet stores and…

Jebus Mews: Studies of Dr. Chewie

Jiminy’s Progress

It’s Jiminy’s first Christmas and my second with the humans. I’ve been working extensively with Jiminy on his issue Human Social Anxiety Disorder (HSAD). He’s gotten very comfortable in his new home. He really enjoys steak and chicken. We spend a lot of time by the windows, our favorite is the one in the bedroom, a lot of birds hang out on the fire escape. It can be a little exhausting because he needs constant attention. He always wants to sleep near me, rubs on my face and body. I let him know when I need my time. I’m a busy cat, right now I’m reading The Price of Inequality by Joseph Stiglitz, I saw it sitting in the shelf and was curious, he’s Subject B’s favorite economist. While I thought I had my paws full with Jiminy, after reading, humans, you baffle me. Continue reading

Jiminy

They brought home another cat. Then one day a yowling cage came home. At first I thought it was a dream. I sleep deeply, so deeply that when Subject B and C come home I yawn meow at them and my eyes stay squinty for 5 minutes. Jebus Mews: Introducing Dr. Chewie Wells

My island is home to Manhattan Psychiatric Center or as my human calls it, “the city nuthouse.” So it should come as no surprise that I have a PhD in psychology and specialize in “Human Behavior.”

One day over dinner with my colleagues which was provided by my human’s mother’s boss (referred to as Subject A from now on) who fed the feral cats; it hit me – what makes cat people tick? That’s when we, the cats, decided to conduct studies.    Continue reading
